The Golden Shores Condo Association is a community service organization, with primary responsibility for the design, use and maintenance of covenants for properties in Golden Shores Condominum complex. We constantly hear from new and long-time residents alike that they take great pride in their community and we strive to foster this sentiment.
Our website is a true source for the Golden Shores community, and we believe its many features are beneficial to the first time or frequent user. We have features that allow you to sign-up to discuss the issues of the day, download the covenants design guidelines. Phase II of the E-commerce section will offer many more opportunities for members and non-members. Through our website, you may also contact the Board of Directors and staff, and please don’t forget to sign our guestbook and share your comments with us.
History
A July 5, 1975 article in “The Philadelphia Inquirer” stated that nearly half of the newly constructed 68 condominium
apartments in a low-rise contemporary building at 8001 2nd Avenue, Stone Harbor, New Jersey had been purchased.
This new facility, named “Golden Shores” in honor of one of the developers Robert S. Golden would offer four studios, sixteen one-bedroom and forty eight two-bedroom apartments that ranged in price from $29,900 to $59,900.
Front apartments face directly toward the ocean with an unobstructed view guaranteed by a grassy municipal recreation area and tennis courts. Other locations in the building catch the surf at an angle. Some look out on the ocean and also the inland waterway, since the land narrows at this point. Each of the four floors has a similar layout with one studio, four one-bedroom and twelve two-bedroom units per floor. Also, each floor includes a laundry area with two washing machines, two electric dryers and a laundry tub. Originally, the developers, Romaha, Inc. a subsidiary of Evans-Pitcairn, had planned to work laundry space into individual units, but supply sources imposed limits on the energy load.
Closets are ample in each unit but one additional storage area per apartment is available on each floor for beach chairs, surf boards or other beach paraphernalia. Currently the association maintains a library in a third floor office space that houses various books, magazines, video tapes and internet connections for the pleasure of the homeowners and their guests. The ground level has a parking lot that provides one reserved parking space per unit and a bike room that allows a maximum of two bikes per unit storage. Two elevators operate efficiently to take homeowners to their vacation homes for leisurely weekends at the shore.
