Board of Directors Nominating Process Due to Close

Upcoming Board Elections

At the annual meeting to be held Saturday, September 4, we will be voting for four openings on the Board.  If you want to help Golden Shores Condos continue as a premier place to live on Seven Mile Island, consider running for the Board.  With the use of technology (e-mail and conference calls) and the contract with Avalon Property Management, the time demands on Board Members have significantly diminished.  The talents, experience, and skills owners possess are needed on the Board.  Please consider running for a position.  You can provide Rita Gaffey, Nominating Co

Golden Shores Herb and Tomato Garden

Thanks to Erin McMenamin (unit 216) and her friend, Erin, we now have a wonderful fresh herb and tomato garden.  The garden is located in the far corner of the garage just beyond the outside bike rack.  When cooking up some epicurean delight,  be sure to help yourself to the herbs. 

Book Club at the Beach

The first meeting of the newly formed book club met on Saturday, July 3 to discuss The Beach House by Mary Alice Monroe.  Nine book lovers attended.  The group decided to read any novel by Lisa Scottoline for our next meeting which will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 9:00.   Scottoline, author of numerous legal thrillers, was choicen to complement her appearance at the Avalon Library on August 18 at 7p.m.   Why not plan to read one of her books and join others from Golden Shores to hear Lisa speak.

4th of July Celebration

The 2nd annual 4th of July picnic was held on Sunday.  Seventy owners, tenants, and their friends and family attended.  The event included great food, good weather and spectacular fireworks.  Photos of the event will be added to the web site in the next few days. 

Avalon Property Management Hired to Provide Building Management Services

Effective today, May 15, 2010, Avalon Property Management will provide building management services to Golden Shores.  A local company who have been in business for over 15 years,  the Avalon PM team bring experience, expertise, and enthusiasm to Golden Shores just in time for the summer season.  Come to the May 29 Information Meeting and meet members of the Avalon PM team. 

Golden Retriever On-line

For many years, the Golden Retriever was published quarterly and provided a means for owners to share what was happening in their lives.  It include the birth of a baby in the family, an exciting vacation, or information about owners from the past.   We want to continue the tradition through our web site.  If you have something to share, leave a comment or e-mail to goldenshores589@gmail.com.
 

2010 Social Season at Golden Shores

Last year was one full of many good times and memories.  The highlight was our first 4th of July picnic.  The Social Committee is looking for volunteers to join the group and start planning for this summer's event.  Please e-mail goldenshores589@gmail.com if you want to get involved.
